The Project
Dupel is a staple in the local Kingston music scene and a massive supporter of the community. He frequently puts on shows like the Amplify Hope events to raise awareness and support for homeless youth in the area. When he reached out for help designing the visual identity for his new album, 2K Till Infinity: The Book of Carcosa, I was completely on board.
From Sketch to Digital Artwork
The creative process started organically with a rough sketch provided directly by the client. I took that initial concept and refined it by hand to lock in the composition and overall mood.

Initial Conceptualization
Once we had a solid foundation, I brought the artwork into Photoshop. This is where I digitally painted and finalized the main album cover. Alongside the cover art, I also designed a supplemental branding symbol to give the project a cohesive visual identity across different promotional platforms.
Designing for Collaboration
This project was a highly collaborative effort. My role was focused strictly on the core illustration and branding elements.
Once the artwork was finalized, I prepared and packaged the high-resolution files for Dupel and his team so they could handle the final layout and typography. Knowing they needed to place tracklists and title text over the image meant I had to deliberately design the composition with enough breathing room to accommodate their typographic choices without the final product looking cluttered.
The Payoff
Seeing the final product out in the wild was incredibly rewarding. The album was well received locally and successfully secured a feature spot on CFRC's top 10 new releases list. Getting to contribute to the success of an artist who actively gives back to the Kingston community made this project particularly special.
